The party arrives back in Scalo Est, and they notice Anafesto talking with Mrs. Perin. Lorenzo stayed behind to control the fire at the Vizzini Estate, but there has been no signs of the brigand army that terrorized the area just days prior. As they enter, the townsfolk cheer and celebrate.
"Bene! You have done far greater than I first expected!" Anafesto says, his stomach bouncing up and down. "I understand Vizzini was the cause of this town's ills, no?"

She looks to the others then to Anafesto visibly searching for words to explain what happen. She settles on that less is more for now.
"For the most part..........Although it appears that he may not have been the puppet master behind it all. " She says, her normal composure returned to her now that the heat of battle has cooled.

"Matteo!" Hans rushes forward embracing Anafesto. "I thought I would never see you again... I must thank you for sending these kind people after me. I hope you'll forgive me though... the bandits took the spice, it's in Vizzini's estate whatever is left of it now." Hans looks at his feet.

Teo is relentless on the journey back to town. He hungers for information, asking questions of their captive almost without pause [whether he receives answers or not].
"What was that orb? Oh! And that amulet? They seemed like they was very powerful. Where'd they come from? How'd you learn to raise the dead like that? You made some come out of the bushes, what was that about? Which do you think is better, a skeleton or a zombie? They're both undead, but you must have your preference, right? Is one smarter than the other? Or stronger than the other? Can you do other types of magic or did you concentrate your study on necromancy?"
Back in Scalo Est: "Hola amigos!" he excitedly addresses the entire town, Anafesto, and Perin. He tries to follow up what Alicia began to explain, but is still too energized from their victory. His explanation likely sheds little light on the situation, "Orgoth has completely destroyed the head of the Vizzini family! But then there was a talking, floating orb shooting lightning at us! Oh, but here is the necromancer!" He gestures to their prisoner, smiling broadly.

Teo never got a single reply from the necromancer, despite his questioning. Jiao and Elgeon escort their prisoner with the militia guards, making small talk with the militia fighters.

Matteo Anafesto embraces Hans. "Do not trouble yourself, my friend," he says. "For trade has already picked up. Vizzini's allies in the Republic have ceased supporting him, as they are eager for other sources of coin."
Hans notes Orgoth still has the amulet. The amulet has a small latch, as if there is something inside.
"Why, Mrs. Perin has agreed to boost my initial reward. All of you will be awarded 3000 pieces of gold," Anafesto says. "A sound reward, I think."
"It was the least our town could do," Mrs. Perin says.
--
A man walks up to Leath, a tall man with fair skin, green eyes, and red hair. He is dressed in a long robe, a style with symmetrical pockets that Leath has not seen before. He begins speaking in Sylvan to the druid, as a raven perches on his shoulder.
"Ah, so it is good to meet another of our kind," the stranger in the long coat says. "My raven, Scathach, reported your exploits from the sky as you defeated the merchant and necromancer."
He reaches into one of his pockets and pulls out a metal box about the size of a large apple. He opens it for a split second, revealing the sphere inside. "These things are unnatural in any sense of the world, but they may be sealed away with the right spells. I am aware of some others, and I would seek to hire your comrades to help retrieve and neutralize them. One of my own allies has fallen prey to their corruption."
--
Alicia feels something strange, as if there is a supernatural entity looking at her. She turns her head, and notices Leath talking to a redheaded man in a strange long coat.

Orgoth stands at the back of the party, turning the amulet over in his hands before remembering it's in some way magical. He no longer wants to be holding it.
"Someone take magic necklace," he commands as he holds it out away from himself as if it offends him.

Hans appears at Orgoth's side before he finishes his sentence. "Certainly my friend". Hans takes the amulet and turns it over inspecting every nook and cranny, with a gleeful glint in his eyes. [detect magic and appraise]

Her gaze narrows on the newcomer talking to Leathe not even hiding the fact that she is staring with a look of concern in their direction. Now that is odd, she thought hesitantly staring at the man in hopes that doing so would bring to light meaning in the prior feeling. She digs deep trying to piece together any information her master might have said that might even come close to the bizarre current events with the orb, the intrusion and the other feelings that have been occurring. Hans detects no magic, but he does notice the necklace appears to have been modified from its original form. A crude shape was added onto the front by some largely unskilled goldsmith, resulting in cheap gilding that covers the original amulet. Hans finds it is an egg shaped amulet with a latch. He cautiously opens it to find a portrait of a woman with black hair in a white gown, but completely devoid of color, leaving only shades of gray. He is unsure of where it could have come from. On the back, however, is a small inscription. "In memory of Elizabeth Baines, 1830-1866."
--
Alicia thinks she recalls something, but knows she has much further research to do. Perhaps once she gets back to Venice, or travels to a city with a large library or university, she'll have that chance. What she realizes is that the strange man is speaking in Sylvan, a language favored by druids, fey, and also related to some rare dialects of pre-Roman Gaelic. But she does recall something of a strange being related to planar travel and spheres, but the name escapes her.

"Orgoth," Anafesto says. "Due to your admirable performance, I would like to hire you as a bodyguard. What do you say?"

Orgoth looks down at Anafesto, "Maybe. Give me two things. Good money and good fights. You have those two things?"

"Si," Anafesto says. "I have many enemies, and Venetian politics may be quite cutthroat, sometimes quite literally."

He knows he is not a good fit for this group of cautious magic-users. It's clear to him that despite his best intentions, he has put these people in danger more than a few times. And, although he thinks them cowards, he bears them no ill will and would prefer they continue to live. Nevertheless, he is both unwilling and unable to change his habits in battle.
After a brief moment considering it Orgoth agrees, "Yes. This deal. You give good money and good fights. I fight for you. I leave if you break deal." He spits in his hand and holds it out to Anafesto.

"Gracie," Anafesto says to Orgoth. "Enjoy the festivities for now. I am curious who that is." Anafesto turns to the redhead talking with Leath.
"Leath, who is your friend?" he asks.

Hans is unfamiliar with the name, but it is obviously an English name. From her clothing, it looks expensive and thus, the woman is unlikely to be poor.
