She moves closer to the console seeming attentive to what is being displayed while really only listening enough to get the gist of it. She looks to the console and attempts to seek the proof of a minor aspect of the system that was mentioned as well as answer some deeper questions that have been nagging at her since they started of this quest. She thinks aloud the command queries that she seeks regaurding....

Hans grins at Brandon, "You drive a hard bargain sir." He then turns to the group. "When everyone is ready we should move out for the manufacturing centre then. Poor Caldeus looks like he is twitching as each moment passes."

Alicia follows articles until she finds something interesting about a little known fellow called Epeus of Corinth. He was one of Alexander the Great's most revered Companion cavalry, but had a pegasus mount allegedly from Mount Olympus. The account leaves little doubt that he was a summoner, and he commissioned a number of relics to help in battle. One of them was an enchanted helmet that could grant summoned beings more power, and was left as a relic within Byzantium. Another was a dagger he used as a backup weapon, but had an enchantment where each successful strike with it would restore some of their eidolon's health. The dagger was captured by the Romans and shipped north towards the British Isles during Julius Caesar's campaigns, and vanished shortly thereafter. If either would be found, they would certainly be valuable as well as useful to her.
---
The Vikings were able to rapidly assemble size wooden cages, due to the machine spitting out parts that easily locked into place without nails. They begin porting them outside. "Tell me, wizard," Sven asks Psychlis. "What are the winters like in Miklagaard?"
---
The door to the industrial sector is at the southern end of the terrarium, and has a pair of thick bronze doors with elaborate dwarven etching. As the party approaches, the doors slide open automatically for a second. In the few seconds the doors are opened, the party sees what lies within. The room is lined with a number of tools at the end of mechanical arms on the walls, with machine parts suspended from the ceiling by hooks. The sounds of combat are rife, as centaur like constructs are surrounded by insectile beings with massive antennae that corrode their armor. While flaking bronze from the automaton's armor litters the ground, the rust monsters greedily consume the iron and steel parts underneath it. The monsters look up at them as the doors close.
"The creatures are now dissolving the doors," Caldeus' voice comes over the communications network. "Get ready."
Jiao loads rock salt into his new weapon, ready for whatever comes through. It will not be long now. The Vikings continue to bring over cages, as three half already been brought before them. Brandon and the other Vikings are bringing another cage from the north, but it will be a while before they arrive.

Leath reaches out to the rust monster that looks the largest and most imposing. [Cast Speak with Animals]
"Listen," he says. "Your actions are doing great harm here. I know you are driven by hunger. I understand. But the creatures here are going to kill you if you continue what you are doing. There would be a terrible fight, and no matter what you did, you would die. I do not want you to die, so I offer you a solution. Come with us and we will give you much metal to feed on. You will be safe, and you will be able to eat your fill."

Hans finds a place on the opposite side of the room. He points his musket towards the corroding door, his hands trembling slightly.

What is left of the brass-alloy doors opens automatically, before one falls off the hinge entirely. A large rust monster, curious as to what lies outside, emerges a second later. Leath realizes this is the one he addressed earlier.
"Quick, throw your metal shield into the cage," Jiao orders Sven. "I'll explain later."
The Viking leader obeys, and the rust monster wanders into the ironwood cage. As it devours the shield, the door is closed. The Vikings bring other cages forwards, tossing rusted and broken equipment in. They recall Caldeus' offer to replace anything that was lost, and dispose of their crappiest gear at the same time.
Another pair of rust monsters wander into two more cages, snacking on an old axe-head and bent javelin. The ironwood cages close, and are taken to safety by the Vikings.
For a moment, no rust monsters emerge from within. Peering into the former doorframe, they can see why. The room is illuminated by sparking electricity arcing between wires.
A single construct remains standing, a blackened figure against the artificial lightning. The rust monsters attempt to corrode it, only to be thrown backwards. One unlucky creature is squashed by the machine. It is a large humanoid, only made of iron and steel and stranger alloys. A skull-like visage hangs were its sculpted face used to be. Alicia and Psychlis recognize the construct as a partially completed (or heavily damaged) iron golem.
If they want to save the remaining rust monsters, they'll have to take the rogue construct out. While it's currently fighting a trio of rust monsters, there's no telling what will happen once it finishes them off.
[Psychlis' roll for Knowledge (engineering): 15]
Since it is an incomplete golem, spells, firearms, lucky shots, and adamantine weapons could punch through the armor. Even weak lightning spells or electricity should damage it, but fire spells would heal it by allowing it to reforge parts of its frame. They realize, however, that they may not even have to totally destroy it. Simply immobilizing or damaging it enough for the remaining rust monsters to finish their meal could suffice.

She has much to think over what the articles had told her but for now there are much more pressing matters ahead of her.
"This could go south quite quickly" She says under her breath as she stares at the scene in front of her. "It would be best not to draw this out." she says to the others given Azreal a subtle nod to prepare himself for battle. She herself gets ready with her arcane words and a dab of butter aimed at the constructs feet.
[prepare to cast grease and having Azreal draw his new blade ready for battle]

Hans waits, finger on trigger. No harm in the rust monsters being a bit more subdued when they are finished with the construct.

Psychlis curses his luck at his dependency upon fire spills for his heavy hitting. Given the relatively low threat level of the construct at the moment, he doesn't see much harm in leveling his crossbow at the creature. He takes aim and fires.

Wanting to make a good impression on the rust monsters and prove he was in earnest, Leath takes out his sling and whips a stone at the golem after Psychlis fires.

[Initiative Order: Leath, Psychlis, Alicia/Azreal, Jiao, Golem, Hans]
Leath curses as the stone resounds across the back wall. The golem turns its head, now aware of the party and moves to attack. [Attack roll=9]
--
Psychlis recalls he still has stone call and magic missile spells that could work. After his bolt impales itself on the ceiling, he considers using them may achieve better results. [Attack roll=7]
--
Alicia's grease spell seems to cause the construct to slip, but it regains its footing at the last moment. However, it moves slowly, as some of the grease clogs its joints.
Azreal's new blade, however, has more luck. The weapon was formed by processes unknowable by few alive today, and easily cuts across the golem's armored chest. Its armor gives way like butter. [Azreal deals 10 damage.]
---
Jiao empties one barrel of his shotgun at the construct, having fared better than his comrades. His slug penetrate's the machine's midsection, resounding like a cannon while doing so. [Attack roll=11, shot deals 5 damage.]
---
The golem, meanwhile, attacks Azreal. It tries pivoting, but the grease on the ground cause it to slip and stumble. [Crit fail, unconfirmed.}
---
Hans realizes that shooting the rampaging construct with his new rifle may be more useful than the rust monsters, and fires. The shot hits the machine's shoulder, puncturing it deeper than the musket would. [Hans deals 2 damage.]

Taking his sling in his left hand, Leath raises his right hand. Flames appear in his palm, and he hurls them at the golem. [Cast Produce Flame]

The flame ignites the grease on the ground as well, surrounding the iron golem in a sea of searing fire. Azreal only nearly avoids being set in fire, but the druid realizes the construct is not even bothered. He watches in horror as the bullet hole from Hans' shot seals itself, and the cut in the armor from Azreal's blade partially is stemmed by molten metal.
[Fire heals 6 HP to iron golem.]

Psychlis, however, is DEFINITELY angry at Leath. "Leath, you moronic flotsam! Didn't you realize that fire would heal that damn thing?!"
He charges up and fires a Magic Missile at the Iron Golem, hoping to undo the healing that Leath's fire had done.
