While Leath helps the lady, Orgoth looks inside the wagon. He looks for any clues to who did this or what happened.

"How very noble," Milford says to Alicia with no small measure of sarcasm.
Honor among travelers in these woods? If men of the land have as much honor as men of the sea, she has a lot to learn.
"I take the approach that every stranger is a murderous thug until proven otherwise. I would not be here today without this philosophy..." Milford trails off as he thinks on his days being traded as a slave on various pirate vessels.

Hans turns to Teo, "Oh it may not be... but I have seen bandits use screams to lure merchants to their deaths. When I was starting out I lost a caravan and several guards to this sort of charade."

"Ah, I see. Well we won't know for certain sitting around here!" Teo is finally fully awake. "Let's go Hans!"
Teo doesn't wait to see if Hans is following and immediately starts off where he last remembered seeing Orgoth. He is nervous but excited about potential adventure so early in the day!

Leath instinctively begins considering how to heal the woman when a pain cuts into his chest. The woman grins as she jams a concealed dagger into his chest, leaving a bloody laceration. He stumbles back for a split second as the woman leaps up and rips the bloody cloak off, revealing a suit of battered leather armor beneath.
"Now!" she shouts. "They may be wizards, but they bleed like everyone else!"
She darts into the woods, vanishing from his sight.
[Leath takes 3 points of damage from the dagger.]
---
Azrael and Alicia survey the area, but notices something moving through the woods. A fast, frantic hiss like air escaping buffets her hearing as a mysterious projectile emerges from the woods. It misses Alicia by less than a foot, and she feels the heat as it passes her. A javelin, the neck of it wreathed in flame, only stops when it impales itself on a tree on the other side of the road.
---
Orgoth peaks into the wagon, and finds a pair of broken crates. The crates were bashed open, as the splinters and wood splinters in the cart indicate. It is more likely this wagon was abandoned for some time. He hears the strange weapon fly across the path, narrowly hitting Alicia in the process.
---
Hans turns his head towards the woods as voices and figures move within. Armored men spring out from their hiding positions, their armor and shields bearing the faded standards of both the Bulgarian and Byzantine empires, indicating they are likely deserters. He spies at least three coming from the same direction that the flaming javelin did.

"AZREAL!!!" Alicia yells in the tongue of the celestials fumbling with the crossbow that she just strapped on moments ago while dashing behind the javelin embedded tree for cover. Once safe She makes a hurried glance around making sure she did not make a terrible error in hiding places in her frantic haste. Azreal for its part senses the danger and hearing its Masters call rushes to protect her grasping the hilt of the large sword at its back readying for it to taste the blood of anything that wish harm on Miss Moon.

Hans draws his crossbow, trailing closely behind Alicia and ducking behind a nearby tree. Once he is obscured from the enemy he loads his crossbow, desperately trying to remember anything he can about this kind of bandit and their tactics that could help the group survive...

--- [OOC: I am a little bit confused, because some of the members of the party had moved forward to the cart, while some of us were still at the camp where we spend the night. But it seems that, for instance, Orgoth, who was at the cart was able to hear the javelin flying next to Alicia, who is back at the camp. Sorry for the confusion, maybe a very rough drawing just to see our positions would help.]

[OOC: I'm a little confused here too, Teo left the Hans/Alicia but probably didn't arrive at the wagon yet before the ambush started? Can he see any of the bad guys while en route?]

Cursing the woman who stabbed him, and vowing to repay the blow, Leath takes cover behind the wagon, near Orgoth. "When the others arrive," he tells the barbarian, "I can cast a spell to entangle these warriors, enabling you to more easily split their skulls, and giving the others a chance to attack in a concerted effort. What do you think?" He palpates his chest wound and looks at the blood on his fingers. "I'm wounded already," he says. "I may have to hang back."

Orgoth follows Leath behind the Wagon. He doesn't yet see any enemies. He looks at Leath and her wound. While the wound is far from lethal, engaging combat wouldn't be a good idea. "No worry. Orgoth take care of this." He taps her on her shoulder, and then walks to the middle of the road. He spreads his arms, axe in one hand. "Come, cowards! Orgoth split your skull! Orgoth eat your gut! Orgoth destroy you!" He boasts [Intimidate]. He looks around to see if anyone comes.

"Murderous thugs, right on cue..."
Milford moves into a more defensible position.
He sways and gestures as he summons up magical energies and searches for targets to blast.
[find cover if possible, readying a magic missile vs anyone approaching]

The group is scattered between the wrecked wagon and camp as the bandits advance. Orgoth and Leath remain near the wagon, and see the bandits charging through the nearby woods. Behind them, Azreal sees Teo enter his field of vision. Slightly south of them, Hans and Alicia ready their crossbows from cover. Back at camp, Elgeon and Darian hear the commotion.
---
Hans is well hidden, but realizes he's seen tactics like this before. His own caravan was stopped due to a fallen tree in the road, and the brigands unleashed a volley of projectiles while sending skeleton warriors to finish off the survivors. He only survived due to knowing when to play dead and knowing when to run for his life. Whatever is happening here, skeletons will likely be coming soon. --- [Orgoth's Intimidation check: 12+19=31] Orgoth sees a line of three bandits at the edge of the road, each holding a longbow and hesitating for a moment. One of the bandits falls back into the woods, his two comrades slinking into the greenery behind as they vanish from sight. "Slay the half orc, children of the Hydra's teeth!" calls a familiar female voice from within the woods. Shifting bones twist and creak as they advance through the underbrush, skeletons wielding rusted, curved blades and ornate round shields resembling those of the ancient Greeks. The skeletons approach from the north, crossing the road as they seek living prey. Four skeletons descend upon Orgoth, raising their rusty blades in anticipation.
[OOC: Sorry for any confusion, but the javelin was loud enough to be heard at camp from the woods. The total distance between camp and the wrecked wagon is about 100 feet, before the road curves in an upside down "L" shape. I've placed your characters around with a few assumptions (such as Alicia staying behind Azreal), but here's the outline.
The Scene: Top is north, bottom is south. Distance between each line is about 15 feet apart, like distance between forest and road in first two lines.
{---------------Forest------------------} Bandits seen here, now 4 skeletons advance. [------------------Road (Wagon)----------] Orgoth, Leath near wagon. {Forest} [Road] {---Forest------------------} Azreal on road, Teo slightly south of Azreal. {Forest} [Road] {---Forest (Javelin-embedded tree)--------} Alicia, Hans in woods here. {Forest} [Road] {---------------Forest--------} Milford takes cover in woods here. [-----Camp----------------------------] Elgeon, Darian at camp. ] Initiative Order: 1) Elgeon 2) Darian 3) Hans 4) Skeleton A 5) Leath 6) Milford 7) Skeleton B 8) Orgoth 9) Alicia/Azreal 10) Skeleton C 11) Teo 12) Skeleton D
In addition, the archers are somewhere on the north side of the road...]

Teo approaches the wagon and immediately sees Leath is in peril. "Are you alright friend!?" He becomes enraged at the sight of his companion's pain. Where typically he'd try to investigate the nature of these skeletons, he instead attempts to dispatch them as quickly and brutally possible.
He focuses his mind, holds out his hand, and projects all of his anger at an enemy in one burst.
[Teo readies Magic Missle for his turn and aims at the nearest skeleton]
Though he has never cast this spell before, Teo feels as though he's being guided by the same mysterious spirits that accompany him from time to time. He often notes their presence when he is being amusing or humorous, but they seem surprisingly invested in him during this dangerous situation.

Orgoth eyes the four skeletons. The dead won't be afraid of his threats. But he isn't of them either. He grins, and tries to crush the bones of the nearest skeleton with his axe. "Bones, flesh, is same thing right?" He yells jokingly at his companions.
