The group awakens the following day to morning dew on the ground and screaming in the distance. There are short, feminine screams, followed by the shouting of men. The cacophony echoes down the road, before the forest falls silent again. Slowly, the sounds of the woods start again, as if the natural world was emerging from slumber with them.

She awakens with a start from the sound of distress, unsure if it actual happened or if it had been nothing but a dream. Feeling like not taking any chances she listens carefully to her surroundings hoping to pick up any clues to the screams above the sounds above her companions stirring, all as her other senses focused onto a point in space nearby for her companion to arrive. She knew these guys would not care but she always made a point when she could to summon her eidolon in rooms or bushes in this case to give the appearance of normalcy. It just made things easier keeping the illusion that her companion was just a humanoid bodyguard. She continued intently listening in to her surroundings even as her cloaked companion strides out of the underbrush. She only diverges her attention to briefly converse in their strange foreign tongue that they exclusively spoke to one another in. A sense of urgency is conveyed even through the unearthly calm the language usual conveyed.
(Clstl) "I apologise Azreal, for I have no time for pleasentries. Would you mind checking into some screaming I heard?"
Shortly afterward the armored companion nods and walks out a ways down the road to get a better grasp of the situation

Elgeon always has a very light sleep. He is used to the sounds of the forest, they even convey a feeling of safety. As soon as the screaming starts he wakes up, but before he's on his feet the sounds are already lost into the distance... Still lying down, he's observing the young woman and her...'pet'? He has never senced this kind of being before. It's all very confusing, and he is even more surprised when he hears her speak an unknown language with it.
When the creature starts walking away, Elgeon slowly sits up and loosely wraps his arms around his legs, turning to the woman. "So, what is...he exactly?"

Teo thought he heard something, but ultimately decided he didn't when nobody else reacts. He was unable to fall asleep last night due to all the excitement of the day before and is still quite tired.

Orgoth wakes up confused. "who scream?" he said when he looked around him. Elgeon, Teo and Alicia were already up, and Alicia's help was already walking away. Orgoth hastily grabs his Axe and follows it. "Wait for Orgoth, Dark-man!" Bellows Orgoth. "Orgoth help find scream!"

Leath leaps to his feet, shaking himself clean, and follows Orgoth, trying to figure out what could be in the direction the screams came from.
[Knowledge: Geography check] More screaming in the wilderness, he thought. Was it really better than the noise of the traffic in town?

Watches the others run off before looking to Elgeon giving a slight sigh as she mulls over the correct words. "Pretty Perceptive, Mr. Elgeon, Would you believe me if I said he was a being that usual resides outside of this mortal plane?" She says with a hushed thoughtful tone glancing to Azreal. "Although if you could please keep this fact away from polite society, The Church fearing public has a tendency to frown upon pacts with outsiders, benign or otherwise. " She says with a little exasperation as she steadies herself on her feet flattening out her rumpled clothes in the general process of preparing herself for the trip.

"A powerful ally indeed...."
Milford gets up and stretches.
"I suppose I'll wait for their report."
He fumbles with his amulet thoughtfully. Did he make the right choice? Is this part of his destiny? Is there even such a thing?
Milford shrugs and sits back down. He gazes at Alicia.
"I am curious about this pact you made... genuinely. Not trying to pry or anything, but I find it interesting that a London girl such as yourself could pull off such a binding."

The ranger nods in understanding and remains silent. For a moment he stares at the ground, reflecting, and then stands up and starts gearing back up immediately, while at the same time listening to Milford and Alicia's chat.

"I met a gnome who asked about a mask." She says with a smile giving a small chuckle at her own joke before getting serious again. "In seriousness though pact is truly a poor choice of words, its more forging a bond that transcends space. He and his kind came to only me after all" She says wistfully stopping her own packing to stare off down the road.
"But you can say I specialize in drawing allies from the ether" She says snapping from her daze packing her things at a quickened pace, embarrassed by her moment of fancy.

Leath manages to tell the direction of the screams is directly to the northeast, along the road. He cannot directly see the source of them due to a slight turn in the road, but he swears he hears a soft whimpering carried through the woods.
[Knowledge (geography) roll: 19+5=24]
---
While Alicia talks with the others, the servant marches down the road to determine the source of the screaming. It rounds a slight turn in the road about a hundred feet from camp to find a grisly sight. A wagon lies broken in the road, almost on its side due to a broken wheel and bent front axle. A woman props herself against the damaged wagon as she sobs quietly. Her clothing is soaked in blood, and her hair is matted and disheveled. She is clad in a ragged dress, with blood and dirt marring the soft white fabric. She stares at the ground before her, apparently not noticing the eidolon approaching.

Hans wakes up to the scream, looks around at the party's earnestness to help, two even crashing down the road towards the scream. His heart sinks as he realises that he will probably get dragged into some clichéd damsel in distress scenario. Unfortunately they never end as well as in the stories, but this group is his only chance to make it back to the city in one piece.
"We should be careful", Hans fidgets, "This could be a trap..."

Teo wakes up to Orgoth yelling. He's too groggy to comprehend what Alicia is describing. Stretching and yawning, the first words that register with him are Hans words of warning, but he's not sure what he's warning everyone about.
He's not quite his chipper self yet, "Morning all. What's this about a trap?"

Leath creeps through the woods in the direction of the whimpering, and comes upon the bloodied woman. He eyes the armored stranger with suspicion, his hand on the hilt of his blade, then stoops to assist the bloodied woman, making her his priority, though keeping his eye on the armored one. He attempts to heal her and ask her what has happened to her.

Azreal nods to the druid content he would be better suited for dealing with the injured girl. It was a little unsure at the way he looked at this one in such a suspicious manner. It had been requested to accompany Lady Moon since they set out yesterday and had seen this one accompanying them? Maybe it was one of those weird human subtleties that it missed sometimes this one thought. Miss Moon always expounded to this one how one should be polite in such circumstances. Azreal looks to Leathe as if it were about to say an introduction but chooses to wait for a better time. Instead it chooses to give the area a quick once over before reporting back. [Perception] If nothing is too fishy it walks backs to the bend where it can hopefully see Alicia unharmed.
Alicia for her own part contents herself to continue packing up camp while making idle chit chat glancing down the road periodically with concern for signs of azreals return. "It is quite possible with camping in Brigand territory and all.It is all the more reason to be cautious, but caution does not negate our duty as travelers to aid our fellow stranded and troubled man on the road. " she says with a note of lecturing in her voice before looking back down the road again. Readying for him she mutters the arcane words to send and receive messages for when he does return.
