Teo answers Orgoth, "Smash away! I don't think burning is required, though I'm not sure. Either way, we can put an end to this once and for all by stopping whatever is the source of these skeletons!" Teo's eyes flash wide as he imagines himself and his friends overcoming a true and proper villain. "Let's proceed to Scalo Est at once!"

Teo decides to head off towards Scalo Est as if he was the Grand Marshall of some imagined parade. Knees high. Smile wide.

While waiting for the rest to begin the march to Scalo Est, Leath takes up a nearby rock and pounds several skeleton skulls into near fragments. He looks forward to stopping the necromancer responsible for this blasphemous violation of Nature's laws. What's dead must stay dead--unless it's an ally, and it can be safely resurrected without becoming one of the Undead.

The next few days pass within incident, first with tension and anxiety that every strange sound could be another bandit raid, and increasingly a guarded reassurance in their own abilities. The bandits seem to be consciously avoiding them, fearful of their group as they descended deeper into brigand-controlled territory. The group occasionally notices the signs of previous bandit raids, with broken wagons, discarded debris, and frantic tracks. They find no bodies, leading them to suspect the bandits may be capturing people alive or recovering the bodies for their own ends. Twice over the period, they find columns of smoke in the distance, and came across a patch of burnt woods, with much of the burnt material removed by human hands and tools. The fleeing bandit tracks largely parallel the road, so they continue onwards.
[The adventure continues in Part 1-3: The Village.]

Hans, realising the bow doesn't have any value, tosses it aside(?). He begins to follow Teo. Scalo Est should be safer than their current location he thinks happily, and there might even be a hot bath. "We might make it out of this alive," he says cheerfully but after a pause he says in a slightly worried voice "I probably shouldn't have said that...".
