Teo has many questions. In one breath he blurts, "Hans, tell me of the "foul things" you encountered in the forest! Were they magical or alchemical? It was probably necromancy right? I bet it was necromancy. Or something else entirely!? Were you frightened? I've never come across anything like this but I imagine they stink terribly! Did they have sentience or were they mindless? Were any of them defeated? If so, how??"
He has a thousand more questions, but does his best to hold himself back because he just met this man.

As the group delays, sunlight sets in the bare forest. The smell of burnt wood wisps through the forest, as well as various animal calls. The road ahead is mostly straight, but the column of smoke is gone.

"Teo, I would love to tell you that I knew what I saw... but I know little of real magic, only small tricks and illusions. Maybe we can figure these things out together but I fear tonight is not the time, I haven't slept properly in days," Hans shivers as something shrieks in the distance.
"Is there anywhere we could safely make camp?" Hans asks the group.

The group continues down the trail and comes to a stop at a clearing along the edge of the road, and island of grass in the sea of foreboding trees. The tracks and wagon on the ground show many other travelers have likely also camped there, as does an empty fire pit towards the center of clearing. The noises of the night serenade the group to sleep.
[The adventure will be continued in another thread, 1-2: The Road.]
